Slide BRAZILIAN
FOOTPRINT
ON MARS
The Brazil on Mars website is an approach by a team of Brazilian engineers and scientists to the colonization of Mars.

We launched this project as an answer to The Mars Society call for proposals to design a Mars City State housing one million people on Mars.

This is our design for such a City.

We describe its concept, location, engineering strategy, logistics, economy, governance and society.

Here you will find our Mars City State Design, who we are and what we do.

STRATEGY

What is the strategy to develop two cities on Mars?

DESIGN

What is the design to the cities to keep economics, technological and environmental activities on Mars?

SOCIETY

How does the Martian people keep their lives?

Koemitan-Nahootsoii

To develop a full sustainable society, we foreseen the foundation of two cities. Named as Koemitan and Nahootsoii, these twin cities will be placed at different places on the Mars surface to reduce risk and improve access to natural resources.

Both cities will settle their own population with local political structure.

"THE TWIN CITIES - KOEMITAN-NAHOOTSOII - IS A PLAN ENVISIONED BY BRAZILIAN RESEARCHERS ABOUT THE FUTURE OF THE HUMANKIND ON THE MARS PLANET."

Why are Brazilians proposing a future on Mars?

The Mars Society announced in February 2020 the holding of an international contest for the best design plan of a Mars city state of 1,000,000 people. No less than 175 teams have entered the global competition.

There will be a prize of $10,000 for first place, $5,000 for second, $2,500 for third, $1,000 for fourth and $500 for fifth. In addition, the top 21 papers will be published in a new book “Mars City States: New Societies for a New World.”

To apply to the competition, a group of Brazilian researchers with different backgrounds  decided to write down a proposal to run for the prize.

However, beyond the competition, we believe this is a good opportunity to develop outreach and education about our future life within the solar system.

"LIFE GOES INTO THE SOLAR SYSTEM. A JOURNEY THROUGH THE NEXT CENTURY."
